This is a well-appointed suite on the second level of Anvard. The central room is a large parlor furnished with a table and chairs, a writing desk, and a sofa and armchairs that are gathered near the hearth. Two windows allow sunlight to come streaming in, and also provide a breathtaking view of the countryside. Private chambers for the suite’s occupants open off of the main room.

There is a quiet knock at the door.

Elriya calls out gently, “You may enter.”

Dar opens the door and passes inside, Honour on his arm. Continue reading

Elriya is sitting in one of a pair of armchairs near the window. Her head is bent slightly over a book.

Honour knocks on the door of the suite and enters. She drops a curtsy and folds her hands in front of herself. “You sent for me, Milady?” She smiles, slightly out of breath. She’s clearly been out riding most of the day. Continue reading

Sir Tyren in Narnia

You overhear a couple of scullery maids chatting as they wash laundry out in the warm spring air. “I just don’t understand why he went. What is there for him in Narnia so important to leave his duties and his wife here?”

“Maybe it was a secret mission. I hear there’s all kinds of wicked magic up there! Aluda told me it was bandits, though. Maybe magic bandits.” The first maid shakes her head at this response. “He don’t look like he’s been in a fight. He was there a while, but it weren’t long enough to recover from some kind of real battle.”

The second maid sounds a little disappointed as she offers an alternative, “Maybe someone is sick, then? It could be a /magic/ cure. I heard tell Lady Astera’s been acting funny these past weeks. Could be that.” The first maid indulges her superstitious friend, “Well, and I /have/ heard that. Maybe it’s so, then.”
